It could be mounted to any car perimeter or straight rail. The clip would come with:
- Spindles
- Upper and lower A-arms
- Rack plate mounted
- Shock mounts
- Complete instructions on how to mount it
- Mounting hardware
- Possibly a video explaining everything
If you were to order one, I'd need to know your ride height, engine crankshaft height, and anything your track rules mandate about the clip, as that determines how it's mounted.
All you'd need is steering, tie rods, and shocks/springs.
This would be a coil-over style front clip that could be used on anything from a Northeast-style modified to a late model/super late model.
I'll also put in engine mounts based on a front engine plate.
If you require stock mounts, I could include a front plate to use with a dummy block so you can make your own factory-style mounts. The engine will still be mounted where it belongs.
It'll fit dry sump or wet sump with no problem.
As far as bay bars or the front hoop, that's your area because all cars are different. However, placement of those could also be suggested.
The lowers will be offered in 16.5 inches and 17 inches for both sides. The clip will be symmetrical. I'm figuring a standard width, but if your rules require a certain width, that's a non-issue.
Some will have sway bar mounts — "lollipop style adjustable" — and some will have no sway bar mounts.
From my experience with NASCAR-style mods and their dimensions, I'm leaning more toward their print. Those cars have limited space, so this one should help with their confines.
For the stock-type guys, if they allow an aftermarket stub based on stock dimensions, that can be done.
I'd make it so you can use what you have in-house for lowers, but with the mounts properly indexed, and you can mount it to whatever style stock frame you have. Obviously, those classes limit you to certain parts, and that can be worked out.
So think about this and post your thoughts. All posts will be considered.
With each clip, you'd also get a standard sheet with heights, angles, etc. My thought is monoball-style joints, as you can fine-tune better than with adjustable ball joints.
Also, based on most rule books, the clip will come 2x3, .125 wall. The lower section will be along the lines of 1.75x1.75, also .125 wall. Nothing polished. Safety is also an issue.
Let me know what you think.
