I've seen some posts recently about the king of racing here in the Northeast. My feelings and thoughts on this is: Ted Christopher drove many different types of cars. He won his first time in a Super, Midget, and others. Overall he was and always will be the ONLY KING!
Some have now collected more titles since we lost him. Others have won elsewhere too but Ted is no longer around posing a threat! Many win "unopposed." There's no one left at the end to force some into an unfamiliar comfort zone. Ted's very presence on track had many looking in their mirrors.
Some people today grade or classify a driver by titles or how many banners hanging in their shops. Ted Christopher was the King and always will be and whether the cars had fenders or not he dominated, he drove in deep and was never a bottom feeder either!
Rest in Peace Ted! No one can fill those footprints!
